Hire an instrument

Luton Music Service has a stock of instruments available for hire. All young people learning through Luton Music Service or with Hub Accredited Tutors are entitled to hire instruments at discounted rates.

The minimum hire period is one term. Invoices are issued termly.

FREE instrument hire (and tuition) is available for children entitled to Free School Meals or in the care of the local authority.

Buy an instrument VAT free:

The Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS) can help you to buy an instrument at a fraction of the normal price. This enables us and other providers to sell instruments free from VAT to pupils who receive tuition from us.

This scheme is not available for adults.

Luton Music Service can source a new or second-hand instrument from one of our approved suppliers. For full details, download the Assisted Purchase application form or contact us.

Alternatively, you can buy an instrument with an interest free loan via Dawsons Music’s ‘Take it Away Scheme’.

Please note, the Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme does not include guitars and is only available to pupils in full-time education in a Local Authority school in Luton.
